According to China's General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, Ford Motor (China) Ltd. will recall some Ford Windstar cars imported into mainland China, because of faults in the rear axle.
The recall, which is scheduled to start on October 8, 2010, will involve 271 imported Ford Windstar cars produced between September 1, 2007 and February 28, 2008.
A statement from AQSIQ said that if the cars' rear axles are exposed to corrosive environment for a long period of time they could suffer from potentially dangerous cracks.
