At its pavilion in Expo 2010, Shanghai General Motors formally published a paper on "The Future of the Green Movement 2011-2015", which gives a comprehensive strategy for the company's development for the next five years.
The strategy is said to consist of three parts: green products, green systems, and corporate responsibility.
Ding Lei, the general manager of Shanghai GM, said that the "The Future of the Green Movement" is not only a basic strategy for the company, but also key to its responsibility and mission and it also reflects the company's values and moral concepts. Ding stated that Shanghai GM will continue to take practical and innovative measures towards realizing a win-win relationship between the company and the environment, and between the company and society to finally bring a sustainable automobile lifestyle to consumers.
It is understood that Shanghai GM started the "The Future of the Green Movement" in early 2008, and it has based several of its middle and long term development plans on the strategy in the paper. It is also understood that, with the guidance of the strategy, the company has already realized many objectives that were originally scheduled for completion in 2012.
