Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission will carry out a study on water resource safety evaluation and pollution prevention technology this year to prepare for the building of an underground water quality monitoring network.
Yan Aoshuang, the director of BMSTC, said in a work report that BMSTC would start a research and demonstration application of underground pipeline and underground cavity detection technology, and realize a real-time monitoring and pre-warning system for underground pipelines and cavities as well as providing technical support to the maintenance of underground pipelines.
According to Yan, Beijing will also combat pollution by speeding up the development and operation of electric vehicles with the focus on pure electric vehicles including urban sanitation vehicles.
