Lenovo Group has published a corporate social responsibility report, which is said to be the second the company has issued.
Compared with the first report, the new one has added such issues as responsibility focus and key performance data for 2008.
Du Jianhua, a vice president of Lenovo, said that the company would continue to invest in the public welfare sector and improve the content of its CSR report.
Chen Shaopeng, the senior vice president of Lenovo, stated that the company has been planning to release a CSR report since the last fiscal year and by doing so, the company wants to know how it can do better instead of merely telling people what they've done.
The report shows that in the past year, Lenovo popularized computer knowledge to 20 million users in the rural areas in China and further improved its environmental-management system. The company says that it will increase its carbon efficiency by 10% in the year 2012-2013.
