Nine prestigious universities in China have signed an agreement on jointly training top talent.
The nine parties are Peking University, Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Fudan University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Nanjing University, the University of Science and Technology of China, and Xi'an Jiaotong University.
According to the agreement, these universities will strengthen their cooperation and leverage their advantages by making use of each other's high-quality educational resources to train better talent. For educational materials, the parties will jointly work on compiling textbooks and training young teachers; build up and release a recognized prospectus of courses; and set up a joint long-distance education platform. In addition, they will launch a special website and doctoral thesis online assessment system.
The alliance will cooperate with famous university organizations — such as the Ivy League in the United States and the G8 from Australia — to expand their influence in the international market.
