Air China, one of the major air carriers in China, has donated TWD10 million through the Association for Relations across the Taiwan Straits to help people affected by the typhoon Morakot.
In addition to the donation, Air China also plans to provide personnel and material delivery support for the typhoon victims.
As a leading Chinese air service provider, Air China states that it has strong sense of social responsibility and it attaches much importance to public welfare undertakings. In recent years, the airline has made notable contributions to public programs such as the Beijing Olympic Games, the Sichuan Earthquake relief, and Project Hope, to name just a few.
Typhoon Morakot which has brought about devastating floods in the southern part of Taiwan, caused the deaths of about 100 people and seriously damaged the agriculture and fishing industries in Taiwan.
