According to the website of China's General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, BMW China is recalling about 135 sedans in China.
The sedans involved are reported to be BMW 1-Series, including 120i and 130i and BMW 3-Series including 325i 2-door Caravan and 330i 2-door Caravan which were produced between May 23 and July 21, 2008.
It is learned that there is a potential fault with the side airbags of the cars and the possibility that the wrong crimp connector can cause the airbag not to deploy properly. BWM says it will repair the cars free of charge to remove the potential risks. Consumers can call the company's toll free hotline 400-800-6666 to get more information about the recall.
Previously, BMW China announced that, from June 25 2009, it would recall 1,694 7 Series Sedans for quality defects.
