Hangzhou, the capital city of Zhejiang province, has launched a program to train young people in rural areas on how to open online stores.
The program, which is organized by the Communist Youth League of the Hangzhou Municipal Commission, targets young people in the rural areas and its purpose is to help these young people start a business online by training them have online transaction skills and other related business skills. The organizer plans to train 1,000 young people this year.
Wang Hongxiang, a representative from Hangzhou Youth League School, says that the lower threshold and smaller investment needed by online stores make the business suitable for young people in rural areas — especially considering the current global financial crisis.
The Youth League has also launched a range of free vocational training programs. Under the programs, training coupons for CNY1,200 are available to youngsters in the rural areas of Hangzhou and senior middle school graduates will have the chance to upgrade their education and further improve their professional competitiveness.
