From July 1, 2009, a simplified labor contract will be initiated in Tianjin for companies that feature frequent employee changes such as catering units and hairdressing salons.
According to China's Labor Contract Law, employers shall sign a labor contract with employees within one month following the establishment of their labor relations. If the employers fail to do so in a year, they need to pay the employees double their salary each month.
Tianjin Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau reminds employees to keep job advertisements and any letters of intent they signed with the employers regarding the employment as well as various other documents such as employee certificates, attendance records, and salary slips which can show their labor relation with the employer. The SSB says these things can be used as evidence to protect employees' interests in case of any labor disputes.
