The Working Committee of the National Office for Eliminating Pornography and Illegal Publications has issued a circular which states that from April 12 to mid-May, 2009, a special campaign will be carried out to crack down on vulgar audio and video products.
It is said that the special campaign will mainly focus on eight kinds of illegal content, namely the description of sexual behavior, sexual mentality and sexual organs which may lead to an unhealthy awareness by youngsters; valueless sexual knowledge and sexual skills teaching; repeated display of nude bodies; exposure of sexual organs; indelicate sexual words and actions; audio or video products marked with indelicate words or slogans like "absolute porn" or "unsuitable for children under 18 years old"; text or content that is against moral ethics as well as other content that has a negative effect on teenagers.
The circular asks that all vulgar and pornographic audio and video programs be withdrawn from sale, confiscated and destroyed.
