As one of the supporters of WWF's Earth Hour, JCDecaux China has contributed advertising space on buses and subway trains to promote Earth Hour in China.
It is learned that JCDecaux has made in-kind contributions in-kind of advertising space to Support WFF's Earth Hour campaign in Shanghai subway and buses. Since the beginning of March 2009, 150 buses with the Earth Hour advertisements have been running all over Shanghai. In addition, 26 light boxes on major subway stations have also been contributed by JCDecaux to promote Earth Hour.
Besides these free advertisement spaces, JCDecaux is also promoting the Earth Hour inside the company through posts, emails, and its website, informing its employees about the initiative and encouraging them to take action to save energy and resources to protect the earth.
Launched in 2007, WWF's Earth Hour has achieved great success in the past two years. In 2008, more than 50 million people joined in on the initiative and it is expected that about one billion people will join it on March 28 this year. So far, about 100 companies from China have announced that they will join this year's event.
JCDecaux began to operate in China 2005. Now its business spans 22 cities in Greater China, including Hong Kong and Macau, creating the largest and most diversified outdoor media network.
