Chinese finance minister Xie Xuren said at a recent national finance conference that China's Ministry of Finance would increase the investment on energy saving and emission reduction this year.
According to Xie, MOF will support ten major energy saving projects this year to remove outdated production capacity and eliminate water pollution. In addition, it will work on promoting the setting of goals, as well as the establishment of a monitoring and review system for pollution and emission control and offer preferential policies for the procurement of environmentally friendly products.
MOF will also work to limit power consumption and emissions through taxation policy and actively support the implementation of national climate change policies by making full use of a clean technology development fund.
