The Korean group SK Holdings and China Guanghua Foundation have set up an SK Guanghua Innovation Classroom in Beijing's No. 4 High School.
The SK Guanghua Innovation Classroom was first launched in 2006 by China Guanghua Foundation, which is dedicated to building more innovation classrooms in junior/senior high schools of China to cultivate innovative thinking and capability through practical work.
In January 2008, SK and the foundation jointly set up the SK Welfare Fund, planning to raise CNY6 million in three years to build the innovation classrooms. Up to now, more than ten classrooms in Beijing, Dalian, and Chengdu have been put into use.
SK plans to establish innovation classrooms in ten schools in Beijing, including Beijing 101 School and Beijing Hui School. The classroom will be decorated in line with the different schools' features, and furnished with computers and other equipment necessary.
