An opening ceremony was held recently for the Proctor & Gambol Earthquake Relief Hope School and Hewlett-Packard Hope Computer Classroom in Guanzhuang Town, Qingchuan County, Sichuan Province.
This is the largest Hope School in the earthquake affected area. The HP Hope Computer Classroom is the first of 20 for P&G Hope Schools in Sichuan, Gansu and Shaanxi.
The cooperation between P&G and HP has brought their particular advantages together to help children in the earthquake affected area.Chris Hassall, vice president, External Relations, P&G Greater China and Asia stated that P&G expects that the P&G Hope School should be the best in China, being a cultural, information and educational center for the surrounding community. He added that the collaboration would certainly improve the software and hardware facilities of P&G Hope Schools.
Isaiah Cheung; vice president and general manager, Personal Systems Group, HP China and Hong Kong; said at the ceremony that computer skills will help children open up their horizons, and will be helpful in their future occupations. The HP Hope Computer Classroom enables children in quake areas to get access to the latest information technology. HP is looking forward to make a difference for the Project Hope through its IT expertise.
This is the first time that Project Hope has received a joint donation.
