Radware has announced that the company and its employees donated the equivalent to USD73,000 to the reconstruction of Yunfeng Middle School located in Sichuan.
Immediately after the earthquake hit Sichuan, Radware's China-based employees launched a worldwide earthquake relief donation initiative within the company, requesting that employees all over the globe donate what they could to help China's children.
Roy Zisapel, CEO, Radware stated that they decided the best way Radware could help with the rebuilding efforts was to fund the construction of a school for the children. Adding that education is key to the children's future and it was Radware's corporate social responsibility as compassionate humanitarians, to do what they could to help.
Radware officially committed funds during a ceremony held on August 7, in the town of Yunfeng, Sichuan, where the new middle school will be built. The donation will be made to the Red Cross Society, Cangxi County, Sichuan who will facilitate the building of new education facilities that will accommodate up to 500 children.
Radware first established operations in China in 2000 and now has a total of six offices in China. The company did not sustain any physical losses to its office in Chengdu and all employees are accounted for.
