Having received a "yellow" warning from the Ministry of Education, 12 universities in China are limited in student enrollment this year.
Among the 12 schools, ten are colleges: Shijiazhuang Foreign Affairs College; Lu'an Professional and Technical College; Taiyuan City Professional and Technical College; Harbin Science and Technology Professional College; Yancheng Nursing Professional College; Yichun Professional and Technical College; the Southwest Qian Nationality Professional and Technical College; Guiyang Professional and Technical College; Yunnan Culture and Art Professional College; and the Wenhua Branch of Yuannan Art College. They all have not reached the relevant standards and have been asked by the Ministry of Education to enlarge their investment and improve their educational conditions.
In addition, two other schools — Jiangxi Science and Technology Institute and Zhengzhou Electric Power Technology College — have reportedly violated the rules in recruiting students and have been asked to strengthen their management and regulate their student recruitment activities.
China's Ministry of Education says it will continue assessing institutions providing undergraduate education and punish those that violate the rules.
