Royal DSM, the global life sciences and materials sciences company, has published its China sustainability report for the third consecutive year.
In accordance with DSM's 3P "People, Planet, Profit" sustainability principle, the 2009 DSM China Sustainability Report presents the company's achievements in the field of sustainability in China, with a global backdrop, during the year under review. It also outlines sustainability goals for the future, and reports on ongoing stakeholder engagement initiatives.
In the People dimension, the report shows the efforts DSM has made in China to improve the working environment, bring out its employees' full potential and show its dedication to providing a better life for people throughout the world.
In the Planet dimension, the company reports that it had already realised five of its nine global environmental targets for 2010.
In the Profit dimension, the company said it did its utmost to mitigate the effects of the economic downturn.
Weiming Jiang, the president of DSM China, said that, in the future, the company will continue to focus on what society needs in China and contribute to China's sustainable development in fields like clean energy, improving energy efficiency, and environmental protection.
