A letter of intent has been signed between the Yandu District in Yancheng, Jiangsu, and the China Electronics Enterprises Association department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, on the building of an environmentally-friendly electronic park in Yandu.
The first phase of construction of the park will cover 1,500mu and involve a total investment of CNY3 billion. It will include a commercial facility that can dispose of 1,000 tons of used lithium batteries annually. Upon the completion, the park is expected to be over 20 square kilometers in area and be a national environmentally-friendly themed park that combines a green electronics exhibition; custom supervision; and production, research and development, and incubator facilities. It is expected that by 2014, the complex will have a total value of CNY10 billion.
Yancheng Electronic Information Industry Park which is located in Yandu District covers a total area of six square kilometers and is home to many hightech IT enterprises such as Qinda Electronics and Laidi Site Integrated Circuit. To speed up the recycling of old electronic products, CEEA has decided to set up this pilot park for environmentally-friendly electronic products in conjunction with Yandu.
