China's first Child and Internet Research Lab has been formally established in Shanghai.
Launched jointly by the Center for Information and Communication Studies of Fudan University and TaoMee Inc, the operator of 51mole.com, an online community for children, CNRL will engage in the study and promotion of Internet education for children and advocating green and safe online surfing concepts and behavior.
CNRL will conduct surveys on Internet use by children, carry out studies on the psychology and online behavior of children, organize featured events targeting children and their parents, compile books on green online surfing and promote children's network education in a vivid manner.
Meanwhile, the first batch of 2,000 handbooks on green online surfing has been given to middle and primary schools in Beijing and Shanghai. As a child and parent-friendly book, the handbook is easy to understand and offers various directions on safe online surfing.
