BMW China has published a report on its 2008 contributions to corporate social responsibility.
Printed on eco-friendly paper, the eight-part report covers topics such as protecting the environment, cultural promotion, supporting education, corporate culture, and employee care. The report also covers dealers' and owners' activities, and offers a retrospective of 2008 and a forecast for prospects in 2009.
The report details BMW China's activities and achievements in environmental protection, cultural promotion, and educational support as well as other charity programs in 2008. It says that the company's other contributing activities are all based on educational support, environment protection, culture promotion, and corporate culture. It states that as a company with is deeply rooted in China, BMW is trying to be a good corporate citizen in the Chinese market.
At the beginning of 2008, BMW China released its inaugural "BMW Corporate Social Responsibility Annual Report 2007" and claims to be first company of its type to ever produce a CSR Annual Report. This summarized BMW's achievements in "Corporate Social Contribution Activities" revolving around 'five pillars' of cultural promotion, education support, environmental protection, corporate governance, and customer integration.
