Fujian Yongan Forestry (Group) Co., Ltd says it has acquired a Sustainable Forest Management Certification awarded by Forest Stewardship Council.
Yongan Forestry now becomes the first company that has obtained the FSC certification with operating area being over 100,000 hectare in the southern forest region of China, which also increases China's forests that have FSC certification up to 700,000 hectare.
Sustainable development of forests is an essential component of global environmental protection, and the forest management certification system is an effective tool to improve the level of forest management and promote sustainable forest development.
FSC is an independent, non-governmental, not-for-profit organization established to promote the responsible management of the world's forests. FSC certification is widely regarded as one of the most important initiatives to promote responsible forest management worldwide. Products carrying the FSC label are independently certified to assure consumers that they come from forests that are managed to meet the social, economic and ecological needs of present and future generations. FSC has set up 10 principles and 56 standards to measure whether management units are under good management, and also set up relative standards for the processing and sales of wood products.
