The National Bureau of Statistics of China says a nationwide sampling survey on 68000 rural households in 31 provinces of China indicated that per capita cash income of farmers reached RMB1,494 in the first quarter, a year-on-year increase of 18.5%.
This was also a real growth of 9.1% after deducting price factors, down by 3% over the same period last year. Per capita income from wages of farmers was RMB608, a year-on-year increase of 16.9%. Of the total, working in local enterprises obtained RMB355, an increase of 19.8%. Those working in local township gained RMB123, up by 21%; and working outside was RMB232, an increase of 19.0%.
Per capita cash income by selling agricultural products reached RMB555, a year-on-year growth of 20.4%. Of the total, per capita income by selling crop products reached RMB284, an increase of 13.8%, while selling fishery products was RMB22, an increase of 10.7%.
Per capita cash income from properties was RMB47, a year-on-year increase of 27.5%.
